I thought I would share some pics of a trip I took in 1987 to Belize and Tikal Guatemala. My uncle wanted to put together videotapes of the area and invited me and my father along. We spent two weeks filming from dawn to dusk. The whole trip lasted about a month.

This is a view of the Fort George Hotel in Belize where we stayed. I’m standing about 2/3 of the way down the dock. The Dock is solid Teak

This is a hotel in Flores on Lake Peten Itza that we were thinking of staying at. It was closed do to the high lake level. The garages are under the huts.

This view is looking from the top of temple one at temple two. Temples three and four are in the background.

The great plaza as seen from the Central Acropolis. Temple one is on the right and temple two is on the left.

Some of the camera equipment. I believe this was the ½ inch recorder. We also had a 3/4 recorder.

Those are great pictures, Bors. I could not help it. I was reminded of this:

Great pics Bors! I've been to Costa Rica but not Belize and Guatamala. Perhaps one day I'll get to go.

Good memory H-D, LOL <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Great pic's Bors!!!! I love those shots of Tikal! I would love to go there one day. The jungle must have been beautiful. I would love to climb all over that complex.

I had you in mind when I was posting this. There is so much down there that is still covered in jungle it just boggles the mind. The jungle is quite beautiful and full of life it's a subject all on it's own. I also would like to visit Africa someday.

Excellent photos. I plan on visiting Tikal this year, finally, and would be happy to have pics half as good.

I bet we could put together a little exploritory expedition with us dogs. Outfitted of course with DFs and have a look around. Of course I am sure that that area has been combed over but you would be surprised on how much is still, really unexplored.
