Nothing like watching an Ebay auction end to see if you won it. Exciting!

First, being a reporter can suck at times. Second, I am torn about moding a SY knife. Do you think Dan Busse gives a [censored] if I mod a Reg. into a bayonet?

It would be an interesting mod. It would take an awful lot of fabrication to make it into a bayonet.

It's driving me up the wall, lol. I need to go find something else to do for another 1 hour, 44 minutes, and 36 seconds, lol. Whats crackin' rth?
I don't think Dan would mind at all about the Reg, actually, I think Big Dog would love to see how it turns out. However, I do think he would mind the swearing, this is a fam forum. Just wanted to cover down on that for you, I know you're venting. What's going down in Germany tonight JJ?

I agree with MB, somehow, I don't think that Res-C would grip the Bayo Lug very firmly, lol.

Monkey Bomb, the people I have talked with in Solingen (mecca of German knives) say it won't be a problem. They could have it down in three days, according to them

Its a Stick tang. You would have to make a rigid handle with a bayonet insert. it could be done but I think it would be pricey. All myu time in the service and I never used a bayonet on a rifle outside of Basic. There are plans to drop the training altogether.

The Res-C would be removed. The muzzle ring would only need the tang to be milled a little (the radiused curve would need to be angled), but the biggest mod would be an 'H' adapter aplied to the lug clasp to attach to the tang. The handle would be up to me to replace

No real point in carrying a bayonet for the weapon anymore, with the way they trained us to use them it was more like a spear. I could see MAYBE using one to augment muzzle strikes in a CQ situation, but that would limit your options with non-combatents. It would definitely increase lethality with a quick melee strike, but not in the way they trained before. Honestly though, if you're going to strike someone with the muzzle of your weapon, and they still need to be ended, why not just buzz 'em?

Monkey Bomb, tere are no plan in the Corps to drop the training. Actually we are going back to a semi-old school of thought.
There have been a lot of concerns about us forgetting about how to fight a conventional war, so the people at TRADOC want us to reestablish ourt position as global powers and not just insurgent policemen

It sure would make an intimidating sticker hanging off the end of an M4 though, no doubt. If you make this happen JJ, I'd love to see the end result
