She's flying SOLO right now, she dated a guy that's in the Army Reserve and he dumped on her while he was gone to summer training. She's just taking her time right now.

At least he broke up with her before hand. I've made up my mind no women while I'm deployed, there's always too many jody's ready to jump on her when I'm not around. I would probably snap if I thought that a woman loved me, and I came home and found out she had been sneaking around behind my back the whole time. My ex thought it was hilarious, one of her coworkers got pregnant while her husband was deployed (air force), had the baby, and gave it up for adoption before he got back...

Made me want to hurl.

He turned out to be engaged to a girl in Kansas, but just wanted someone to go out with here on weekend liberty. Glad she found out before it got too serious. They didn't date but about 2 months or so.

awesome, even better. I was [-] this close to joining the corps when I was 18, but I didn't because I had started dating this girl, and I didn't think me shipping for basic was good incentive for her to stick around. I enlisted in the army after we had been together for a long while, and as soon as I got back, she bolted. I figure it's time to live my military career for me, and not pick a branch and MOS based on what others think. Gotta be me

Military life is not very conducive to young relationships

She's a smart girl, mind if I ask how old she is? IMO, people shouldn't try to settle down until they're mature enough and well established enough financially to take care of thier other half and children. Problem is people marry because they're in love, which is the same as cocaine addiction, btw, and then when that wears off and reality sets in, things go south.

Being young is not conducive to relationships, but add the stress of distance by deployment or even stationing far away, it kills their chance.

She's 18, just graduated High School and getting ready for college. Very mature for her age, but still an 18 year old at heart.
