ok, well, considering the usual Busse mark-up, I'm not offended at the price. Like you said, I really REALLY wanted it, so who cares about the price.
So this is Scrapper number 3, can I join knives anonymous now?

Yeah, I'm a generation behind, but I'm getting ready to buy a D300 soon, just have to stop buying knives LOL. I can't drop 5k on a camera, but the D300 is doable. You should really consider the D700. It is more expensive, but the sensor is 4 times as big. I'm not taking about MP. I am talking about light capture. It owns the night. check out dpreviews and do a side by side with the 300. You'll see the MP isn't that much bigger, but the sensor sis mammoth comparatively. Haven't thought about it that way, but you're right. The full frame cameras would bring my old wide angle lenses back too, right now they're pretty much useless.

This is your third. Do you feel like you still NEED more? ummmmm. I have an EDC, a utility/survival blade, in a spiffy custom made camo pattern!... and a fighter for deployment overseas..... Yes. Now I gotta get a monster Chopper, and I was leaning hard towards the DF Combat Grade.

I am not dogging the 300, but it a consumer camera. 700s take pro shots at a consumer prices relatively

"God grant the serenity to accept the things I cannot change the power to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference." Yeah, I went to AA.
