[Vinnie palms off a $100 bill to Barney]

Barney Coopersmith: You don't tip FBI men!
Vincent 'Vinnie' Antonelli: Sure you do!

Vincent 'Vinnie' Antonelli: It's not tipping I believe in. It's overtipping.

This subject has been talked to death on many more forums than this one. But it's always good for keeping a thread near the top.
Glad to help out.

I had a lot of ill will towards the flippers when I first embarked on this hobby about a year ago. I wanted a Battle Rat in the worst way. However, I could not bring myself to pay $200+ for something that originally sold for $148.95. So I decided to wait. Soon after Scrapyard Knives came along. I still find it crappy that some people miss out because somebody bought 20 of them in order to flip. However, if you have the capital to buy inventory that can be doubled quickly, it is a great way to make some quick money. I bought three. Two to keep, and one as leverage. It looks like it is going to score me some Scrapyard INFI.

. . . nothing to do with Dan and Patti's financial stability.
Certainly not. I think Dan & Patti need another 18% about as much as I need another hole in my head!

I am coming to appreciate that you're only here for the bargain but I don't think you have the information to support this statement.

Two wrong conclusions, Kraz. Although the bargain doesn't hurt anything, I'm actually here for the knives. And if you think about it, would Dan sell his products under market if making money was his primary objective?

You made a statement that implied that SYKCO is rolling in the dough. Small businesses are fragile, stuff happens, like unexpected medical bills for example. Capitalizing equipment is darn expensive and has to be done over several years.

You have no facts to support your opinions. You do not know the financial state of their personal lives or business never mind whether it is good or bad. I find your comment extremely inappropriate.

Instead of posting a rant (I don't have time!), I'll just state that I share Gravelface's feelings on the matter, but have no viable solution. To me, a limit of 5 would be fair, but its not my decision to make. I hate scalpers. I really do.

When you have one-time-only models, and they sell out literally minutes after they are released, then yes I think there should be limits imposed on how many any one person can buy. Someone buying 20 of them and selling them on eBay the next day at a 50%+ markup doesn't do Scrapyard or their customers any good.
