If You cut off the top "guard" on the Reg (thus making it a Dereg actually) if you could find some way of getting the ring to wrap around the blade just in front and butting against the guard you could then possibly use the thong hole to have another sort of ring or something hold it to the barrel. I'm not all that good at explaining myself, sorry.

Just something to "pass it forward" as has been done to me with the Challange coin and the MP.

This might help explain what I am trying to do.

Number 6, the guard/muzzle ring is held onto the tang with that little piece clapped to the tang just to the right of the guard in the diagram.



The guard is not "wrapped" around the blade.


I am going to remove the res. c handle and put the guard on the tang of the reg in the same manner. I just need some kind of the metal piece to hold it in place like in the diagram.

JJ, Ok, sort of like a wedge.

Yes! I didn't think of a wedge. The one on the M7 is a piece of steel going through a hole in the tang and then bent down toward the pommel and squezzing the tang. I don't want a hole in the tang. I want to preserve the tuff as nails quality of the SY knife

so you want to be able to use your Regulator as a bayonet?
