I may be putting it back on, but don't see it being an issue cutting the rubber to make way for the barrel to have access to the muzzle ring/guard. That will be the easiest part of the mod.
I will probably build a hardwood handle and do a para cord wrap though. Not really sure how I feel about blister causing rubber handles yet.

Making the handle will be relatively easy too. My biggest issues are connecting the pommel and guard with out cutting or modifying the actual blade/tang of the reg.
