I started serious photography when I was about 30 or so, went back to college at 35 when I lost my job in machining. If I had more to invest in lenses and camera bodies, I would feel more like selling photos. My old camera isn't but 4 mp, it isn't quite up to the resolution that is called for in commercial photography right now.
