SEVERAL years ago, like 14 or 15, I bought a Colt AR15A3 through the Sheriff's office. I think I gave $705.00 for it (and that may be the price I paid for something else) I do know I got it for 150-200 off the normal going price. ANYWAY, all the neat stuff available for it just boggles the mind.

I like the stocks and forward grips. red dots or lasers are cool but sometimes guys just put to much stuff on the guns. if you trip and half your gun breaks off the you probably had too much stuff on it. that's another reason I am glad I got the m1a. bet I could ride it down a few flights of steel and concrete and it would never miss a beat.

I agree about the "Gadgit" fad. Irons, maybe a non complicated scope and you're good to go.

My AR is of course the flat top. I always know where the "carry handle" is even though I don't use it. I have a 30mm (I think) beeman air rifle scope (it's rated for full automatic centerfire use) and It works real well.

so what's your favorite rifle Skunk?

I don't really know. I have a few bolts in .308 and 22, several shotguns, 2 evil "black guns", my Ar and an L1a1 metric. Oh and My .117 Skunk Buster. Maybe that one. It is a full size rifle (RWS Diana model 45) so proper sighting cheekweld, shouldering etc all apply. PLUS it is a tack driver and I can shoot it in town so I can practice and never leave the yard if I want.

well I have been wanting a nice rifle since my pellet gun days. I used be deadly with my pellet gun so I know what you mean about it being a favorite. I hope one day I can be out on land where nobody would care about gunshots but it's unlikely. pellet guns it will be...
