I jusy ordered a BATAC last night, urban gray, black handles. I liked the size, thickness, and price seemed decent too (for what it is, clearly not inexpensive). I sort of justified it to my wife, and she sort of went for it too! I have a couple other fixed blades, supposedly good, good steels, but even light use on a hike will leave them dull or with tiny chips. I realized there was stuff I was not using them for that a knife should be able to handle. When you look at the warranty and the quality, the SCYKW, SRKW, and Busse Knives all end up making a lot of sense. I ordered via the web, almost wish I had called. Congrats, let us know when you get it and post pix. I ordered a tan blade, black micarta on 02/08. The wait is killing me!

I almost ordered that combo. The colors are tough to be sure of over the web though. I considered tan handles and black or o.d. blades too. I figured due to the thinner blade and size this one might see kitchen duty occasionally too, so I went with a smooth finish. Nice thing about the under 7" blades is you are much more likely to have it when you need it! I am interested to see the tan on yous when you get it. Kind of thinking about ordering another!

Ever since I saw Cold Ones Sage Warden I have gotten Warden fever. As much as I love scrappers, S7 is not the best steel choice for a little knife. Also Res C is not as useful as on a big knife. A nice warden with a leather sheath with a pocket clip would look awesome for an EDC. If you are going to carry something everyday it might as well look good. I love my current EDC my SS4 but I may have just talked myself into a Warden. The Badger attack is awesome as well if you like something a bit bigger than a warden. Busse knives are all so good looking.

I am interested to see who gets their BATAC first. If Kraz wins again then we may have to research his last. My guess would be his last name is Busse! I want a Warden too, may pick up a skeleton unless Dan releases an SR-77 version!

I just could not stand it, Unsub. I just ordered a Badger Attack with an Urban Gray blade and Magnum Black Micarta scales. It just spoke to me.

I was thinking the same thing except when I cut up a raw bloody steak with my RD7 w/ micarta grips, the micarta soaked up the blood like a sponge and stained the tan micarta a bizarre dark, but cool color. Blood does not clean out very well.

Busse knives are all so good looking. If a 5" blade works for you, the BATAC is a really great value, even better than a GW. The BATAC is of course, larger than a Warden. The Warden blade is only about 3.25" long so you may find it short and stout versus your SS4. I wish I had an SS4 to give you a direct comparison

I'm seriously thinking about ordering a magnum black G-10 handled tan blade. H-D has infected me with Magnum black G-10. Blood does not clean out very well. A couple of folks have oiled their micarta and it really brings out the color as well as providing some sealing effect for the pores. I'd like to try that one of these days.
