Interesting story on the shotgun if you would like to hear it.

I was lucky. I bought that in 96. You can't get the DM any more and they cost roughly 3 times what they did then for a similar setup.

Well about 14 years ago my home town PD was gonna have an auction for stuff they had taken away from folks. All kinds of stuff. There was this little bolt action .410 shotgun with a chopped off barrel. ILLEGAL as all get out! Well they was gonna destroy it. I told them the my Dad was looking for something like that and the Chief said IF he could "FIX" they would let him buy it before the auction.

Well it was about 4 inches to short in the barrel. Dad found some steel pipe that could fit down over the barrel and would extend the total length of the barrel to 18 3/4 to 19 inches (legal length). He brazed the pipe to the barrel and spray painted it.

The next day he found some REALLY THICK walled brass pipe that would fit inside the steel pipe, so he just pounded it in, reamed out the diameter to the same as the inside of the barrel at the muzzel, filed brazed THAT to the steel pipe, filed it smooth, painted it again and took it to the PD. They were gonna give it to him but he paid them $10.00! I will TRY and get a pic sometime and post it.

Neat story. We finally started to auction off ours in lots. I nearly cry when I think about some of the finer rifles that they just destroyed back in the day.

I spotted an original sharps that appeared to be about 85% that was destined for a date with a chop saw, not to mention way too many Colt 70 series.

ALMOST makes you want to change to a life of crime! I have had a series 80 model colt but like the 70s better and NOW like my springfield ultracompact V10 better.

I don't really have that many.
