hardest part was lining up the holes and getting the step right, other than that it was fairly easy, about 1 1/2, maybe 2 1/2 hours total

maybe an hour or 2 grinding the blade, I didn't do it all at once, just kinda did a little when I had some time

What is the idea behind forcing a patina? ie: what value add is there? Is it to obtain a certain look, or to create a corrosion barrier, or something completely different? Thanks!

from what I've ready it primarily looks good and helps to stop any red (rust) corrosion

on the skizzy I'm just gonna satin it a little then patina it so it has an old katana feel to it

Lookin good Jared. Did you end up using a template to locate the holes? I just traced them out from the old handles, cut them out, then used the holes in the knife to mark out the spots for the handle holes
