I hit some speed bumps though. I snapped two (my only ones) carbide drill bits while making holes to bolt the pieces together. Things are extremely brittle.
Pvt. Klink, do you want finished product pics that's be possible at the end ot the weekend), or process pics?

The knee is slowly getting better, and I can CAREFULLY hobble a few steps without my cane. As I told my wife, this is an example of why you should NOT do some of Bear Grylls' stunts - and I was just stepping up into my truck!

I put it all together and held it in place with a couple vice grips last night. I surprised myself how well it is actually turning out. Looks almost professional, definitely solid as a rock.

Glad you're healing. Strange how you can hurt yourself doing something so simple as stepping up.
We HOPEFULLY will be stepping up into OUR new truck next week at the latest. We sent the title off to get it in Mildred's name on Monday. License bureau said we MIGHT get it back today or Saturday. SO we SHOULD get it into our name next week sometime.

I need to coat the metal with something. I stripped the tang of the reg and exposed the metal and the steel bar I am using is naked. Think Krylon will do. It won't be visible since I am going to wrap the handle with 550 cord. I ordered camo cord Monday.

Hey Tom, now that flickr has changed the format, now how do you post so that ONLY the pictures show up?
