Both !! I just bought the Bushwacker and it is laying right here next to me. Great knife- but so are the DFs. For the price of the Bush you can buy a DFLE on the secondary or get a proxy for Blade on a DF and and buy the Bush also

If I had a DFLE I would be forced to do a serious weekend comparison since my BWM is the flat gring (hint, hint)!!!

The reason I ask is a friend of mine has both. And he says (IHO) that the Bushwacker is both more efficient and more comfortable. I only own the DFCG so I was hoping to get some of your experiences.

I can't help regarding the comparison...however, the BWM outright FLIES! I've never had the chance to handle a DF, as their price point on the 2ndary market was what held me back. In comparing the BWM at shop pricing, to DF on the 2ndary, I had to get a BWM while I could. I've already chopped down half of the tree in my backyard with it

The BWM does fly for sure. I would have to say that it does outchop the DFCG - BUT the DFLE IMO feels almost as nice as the BW.Keep in mind-I said " almost" as that is a pretty tall order.

I think that the BWM would bite deep. But the DF has quite a bit of heft to it. I'd like to see this chop-off.
CHOP OFF!!!

I think that for factory prices...you get what you pay for on both. With the DF at secondary prices only, and the BWM at factory prices still, I think the BWM will go up in value, and is a better valued chopper. Yes, I think the BWM is also a better overall chopper too. It is longer and faster.

For the price, you can't beat the performance of SYKCO. Personally, for extended chopping, I prefer the DFLE because of the Res C handle. But that BWM is my grail knife. Finally, Busse made a lighter, faster mistress. The Swamp Rat M9 is no slouch, either. In my experience, the differeces in chopping performance of the three knives is more dependent on their edge than the knives themselves. All three are great all around big knives. Since I no longer have my DFCG, I can't compare it directly to the BWM, but it did chop about as well as my FBM did.

I'd guess they are pretty close in their chopping abilities.
I think that Res-C handle is a big plus for the Dogfather for comfort.

You can't lose with any of them, but the DogFather offers "Superior Performance to Price Ratio"!!!
