I have just one question from my Canadian fellas.

Today I was looking forward to getting my new Blackhawk back pack and I realized for brokerage (tax, handling, customs and ...) I have to pay 125$ <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> and what I did was just refuse it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" /> It costed me 110$ with shipping included. I sent an email to company and discussed this issue and asked them about the return policy. I think I should pay 25% of purchase price <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> From now I decided to not buy any stuff (except Busse family knives <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />) from States because the customs policies are really annoying and confusing. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

The thing is My Dereg soon would be on the way home and I am not sure about the same problem. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Did you have the same issue or at least do you know about the customs policies for a 120-130$ knife?

Best regards,

I'm scared to dude! My Reg's not here but I'm sure it's gonna be extra. It's the price you pay.....or gas , time and such to drive down and get it. If you find out how to get around this cost please let me know.

Scrap Yard ships by USPS so you will be hit for either $5 or $8 for Canada Post's handling fee as well as taxed on the declared value of the knife. Nothing else to worry about!

It is when folks ship by UPS that you get hit with brutal "brokerage fees"

So it seems there is no way to reduce the amount <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" /> But I might go to US soon ,probably in June. So I'm thinking of giving my friend's address in US. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

Thanks Cold One! Now I know what to expect when it arrives. Now I can wait beside the mail box with a little cash in hand.

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" /> you're right. I completely forgot that <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> I already heard about the UPS unfair shipment policy for Canadian customers.

I usually end up having to pay GST on whatever I get plus the $5 handling fee.
