I've created a monster.
The edge is now .010" thick at the closest thing it has to a shoulder, it was .060". Now it's only twice as thick as my thinnest knife, a ZDP-189 Spyderco Caly 3 at .005".
The final edge angle is about 12 degrees per side, a little steeper than I was expecting, but considering the overall thickness of the blade it doesn't surprise me. This is also still the edge formed by polishing the blade (as you'll see later), so I cold potentially knock it down a degree or two with my ceramic stones.

In a way I'm happy with it being slightly on the thick side, once you get around 6-8 degrees per side steel starts to act a little more like tinfoil.

(It comes with a cloaking device too!)

Here's a few shots with my other stripped knife.

Last but not least, I got some macro stuff.
I did a bunch of the rough polishing with an orbital sander (which is now one of my best friends). You can see some of the loopy scratch patterns.
I went straight from 80 grit belt to polishing by hand, and it shows. I probably should have done a bit of work on the 120 and 220 belts. It'll probably be covered with a dark patina by the end of the summer though, so the finish isn't really a big deal.

And the edge. Again, some of the loopy scratches are still discernible. I'm surprised it shaves so well considering how it looks under close inspection.

At that level of magnification, that edge looks scary.

Wow, that thinning job is amazing looking. However, the macro settings make the edge look like hell.

Great job! Be interesting to see what the edge looks like after running in on a strop.

That's right. The Klingons need big energy radiating devices to hide their ships. Romulans just use a simple optical illusion, that also happens to work on inferior Federation sensor technology.

And yes, the knife works beautifully on steak.

Thanks for the comments guys.
