Ok, just so no one says I am not doing my part to help boost the count here goes. My wife sent me an e-mail the other day, and it's a list of 9 questions for the person WHO KNOWS EVERYTHING! AND it proves we don't! So do your best and I will post the CORRECT answers next week. What's your best guess?

There are only nine questions.
This is a quiz for people who know everything!
I found out in a hurry that I didn't.
These are not trick questions.
They are straight questions with straight answers.

1. Name the one sport in which neither the spectators nor the participants know the score or the leader until the contest ends.

2. What famous North American landmark is constantly moving backward?

3. Of all vegetables, only two can live to produce on their own for several growing seasons. All other vegetables must be replanted every year. What are the only two perennial vegetables?

4. What fruit has its seeds on the outside?

5. In many liquor stores, you can buy pear brandy, with a real pear inside the bottle. The pear is whole and ripe, and the bottle is genuine; it hasn't been cut in any way. How did the pear get inside the bottle?

6. Only three words in standard English begin with the letters ' dw' and they are all common words. Name two of them.

7. There are 14 punctuation marks in English grammar.
Can you name at least half of them?

8. Name the only vegetable or fruit that is never sold frozen, canned, processed, cooked, or in any other form except fresh.

9. Name 6 or more things that you can wear on your feet beginning with the letter 'S.'

I HAD posted a response to TM's answers but think I will just go ahead and wait until next week like I said. Might be fun to see what kind of answers we get.

#8 is watermelon.

My best thoughts on #9 tend toward subsets of shoes, like sneakers, stilettos, ect.

I was also thinking Asparagus, but wasn't sure of another, so I did a search for perennial vegetables, and got a pretty long list:

Artichokes, Asparagus, Beans (perennials like scarlet runner), Broccoli (perennials like purple cape), Cannas (there are edible forms), Cardoon, Chard (perennial), Chicory, Chives, Chokos, Corn Salad, Dandelions, Fennel, French sorrel, Garlic Chives, Ginger, Good King Henry, Japanese hornwort, Jerusalem artichokes, Lemon Balm, Lovage, New Zealand spinach, okinawan spinach, Purslane, Rhubarb, Rocket, Sorrel, Sweet potato, sunchokes, Tamarillo, Walking Onions

If you live in warm climates, Okra will grow as a perennial; Mom grew up in Lousiana, and she said that it grew there as a perennial.

According to Wikipedia, punctuation marks are:
apostrophe, brackets, colon, comma, dashes, ellipsis, exclamation mark,
period, guillemets, hyphen, question mark, quotation marks, semicolon,
slash/stroke, and solidus.

I know that some may consider looking things up to be cheating, but my philosophy is that I don't need to know everything if I know where to find it.
