I will preface this recommendation with the fact that I live in Texas, and cotton is king here (at least for me). I don't worry about dying by freezing to death...I like getting wet <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

That said, I found a pair of pants that will take my abuse working around the house (remodeling, fabricating, yardwork, etc) and translate well into field pants. They brush off mesquite thickets, as well as the thicker underbrush in the East Texas bottom-lands. They are THICK, and can get hot in the summer days, but I still wear them...they protect me from the elements that I am faced with and are extremely versatile. I hunt in them as well...so, they're my "grail" pants.

The chief cause of unhappiness and failure is trading what you want most in life for what you want at the moment.

Duluth has some pants they sell called the "Ball"-room pants. Crouch without the Ouch, lol. Duluth does have good stuff, I have a Balaclava that I wear in the winter. I gotta figure out where I put it though

I wish they had those Bear Survivor pants with double knees and didnt cost 90 bucks. It be even better if they didn't have his name on them too.

That'd be perfect!

Here are the closest thing so far (made by the same company) but they are a cotton/poly blend.

I got the pants from LL Bean but I hated them right out of the box. I still want to get a pair of the Bear Grylls pants, but that'll have to wait.

It rains so much in NW, so I wear these:

They are pricy but worth it. Before I just wore cargos w/ a cheap pullover pair of rain pants. Worked ok but made me look like MC Hammer!!!
