so i plucked this from deathchat and decided to give it its own thread so more would see because im genuinely curious
OH i was gonna ask someone with more experience...
the scrapyard site has the dogfather listed as being full flat grind, BUT ive heard the first run was sterile....and the photo is not sterile.
i thought only the LE was full flat, the one i have now is saber ground...
im confused
i woudl imagine then that there are many DF's out there..
the "original" -sterile the one pictured in the site ( coated and full flat) LE my "CG DF" with saber grind and the DDF
correct me where im wrong please

I believe Ordawg1 has said the original tans were full flat and thinner(?). I am sure there have been many types made. I think there was a thin full flat at Blade West! Unfortunately I did not know how much I loved that grind at the time.

Hello there. Here's what I know:
-The first DF's were sterile (I have one and was here for their release). This knife is what started the addiction for me. I always wanted a Battle Mistress, but could never afford it (I'm still in college and discovered them when I was a freshman in high school). When the DF was announced, I knew I had to, and could afford to get one.
-The first ones were "near full height" grind. The key word is "near." They are high saber grinds.
-The DFLE's were full flat ground.
For everything else, like DF's at shows/ganzas etc., it's anyone's guess as to what they all were. Maybe there were some flat ground combat grades, but they were never official releases for the general public here to order.

It was so cool to see DF's at Blade.
Most sold pretty quick! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
I kinda wish I'd picked up a couple more... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> Maybe next year. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

It would make a great companion to my DFCG and DFLE!

There were a couple of M9CG's on the table at Blade. I wanted one so bad... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> But the funds were already stretched very thin... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
I really like my M9LE, but I eventually have to have the CG too... Maybe they'll have some at fall Knob Creek. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />
