I just wanted to say thanks for the kind words from many of you when I my 12yr old family Rottie Loki died a couple of months ago. We just adopted a 1yr old rescued German Sheppard mix. All JYDs need blade and a good dog IMO!

Thanks Mr Bond, she is a great dog. We may adopt another in a couple of months. What dogs do you have? (Not blades)

0-9 - Congratulations on Sadie - she's a fine looking dog! We got our latest dog, a female Rottweiler, as a rescue as well. When our Lab/Rottweiller died, the Vet where we treat and board our dogs asked us to take Tia, a rescued dog. They love Rottweilers, and were very determined that she go to a good home. We felt honored that they asked us to take her, and she is a great dog! She follows me everywhere, and I call her my shadow. I hope Sadie works out for you as well as Tia has for us! Tom

That's funny we have the same collar on our lab. Not the green one but the one underneath it. We've got a 10 month old lab right now. We'll get another soon. It's a lot easier keeping two dogs occupied and entertained than one. Especially since they can romp and play together.

I agree with your two dog point Jerrwhy, which is why I will always have at least two at a time. Right now we have four! Tom

Ditto Jerrwhy, we want to acclimate these rescued dogs one at a time. I would like to have another female Rottie, though Tom! My last Rottie was by far the best all around dog I have ever owned.

Tom, if you have ever have a chance you have to take Tia to a farm with horses or cows. I did this with my old city Rottie several years back and she instantly started herding my friend's horses.

She had never seen a horse up to this point in her life. Her natural instincts kicked in and she rounded up the horses into a pack by chasing them down nipping at their legs. It was the coolest thing I have ever seen.

0-9 - I live on a 165 acre farm! We only ran a herd of cows and grew hay - no crops. When I sold off my herd, we built a new house in the middle of my hay field. Now my neighbor- he lives a mile down the road- rents my ground from me. None of my dogs, including Tia, really bother the cows or calves very much. Whenever I am outside or working in my garage Tia usually stays very close to me, like a shadow! She really is a good dog, though she can be scary-looking! My kind of dog!!! Tom
