I recently received a Dogfather Le. I have used it a few times to 'deThatNeighboorify' my yard.

1) What is the best way to remove stains from satin SR77? I do not believe it is rust but the discoloration does not seem to come off with sand paper.

2) Should I be overly worried about the blade corroding in the humidity of Houston? It has been indoors since I purchased it but it seems to have more discoloration on it then when it arrived. I have used the knife several hours outside so I guess it might be just be wear.

3) While clearing some weed stalks and chopping some small trees I stuck a cinder block and a rock. While cleaning up I noticed several sharp dents in the edge. I was unable to straighten them with a steel and needed ~20min with diamond stones to get them out. I do not believe I put that much force into the swings and was surprised to see the damage. Should I realistically expect the edge to not have been damaged in this situation or is it possible that the edge I received it with was too thin?

1) I honestly don't know
2) Cleaning and a light coat of oil after heavy work will be more than worth your time.
3) Damage like that is not too surprising, was the DF re profiled by the previous owner?

Busse-Kin knives all have good steel, but still keep in mind a cinder block and a rock are pretty hard and will normally damage the edge. I purposely cut a brick in half with my Scrapper 6 and there was a small chip or two in the edge. I originally thought the miracle steel could take it and laugh but then realized that most steel would show major damage and the S6 barely had any. I just sharpened the damage out and kept on truckin'.

Lol, I ment to say it have been stored INDOORS not outdoors. It has probably only been used for ~3-4 hours outside.

I do not know how much the previous owner/owners re-profiled the edge. It did not seem to be too thin but I do not have a pristine one so cannot compare.

After reading the comment about Flitze, I remembered I had some Brasso Metal polish on hand. I worked on it a little with the polish and a paper towel for maybe 5 minutes. It seems to looks quite a bit better already. I will have to check it in the sun (its 1am) and see if there was a true improvement.

I do wonder about the dents through, any idea if INFI would have fared any better in this situation? My S5 Le got a dent but it was pretty easily steeled out.

Cinder blocks and rocks will damage just about any edge to some degree. I use a Scotchbrite buffing wheel to remove stains when they get really bad.
