First off hello. I am new to these forums but I login to Bladeforums pretty regularly. I am also new to knives for the most part. Right now my list from Scrapyard stands at:

Dumpster Mutt DC
Dumpster Mutt (version unknown, hence the question)
Regulator
Wiener Dog

This brings me to my question. I'm not sure which version of Dumpster Mutt my second one is. I dont see it on the site list of knives. Its kind of in between the DC and regular version. It has a handle like the DC version but it has the 5/16" sabre ground blade like the regular version, except the lack of penetrator tip. Its also a tan (sage) blade with a tan Res-C handle. I just had a sheath made for it and the maker put it up on his photobucket account, seen here top of first page:

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for the great knives <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Welcome to the Yard, sounds like you have a good start to the addiction.

Your DM is a second (third, fourth) run Combat Grade - DMCG - These have the dimensions of the originals without the penetrater tip, and not sure the Basic handles.

You find these made for shows.

It's a "second generation" tan CG DM. The original CGs had recycled Busse basic series handles, and were all sterile black, .285-inches thick. Yours is the version that has been sold at knife shows having a Busse presence since the Fall 2008 Knob Creek show (where they sold for $89.95). They were show special priced at $69.95 for the 2009 Blade Show, and have remained there since. I don't know if Dan is still churning them out for military orders, and diverts a few overruns to the shows, or if they are still selling from old 2009 Blade stock -- I guess it doesn't matter, but the DM is the only knife I know of that remained show special priced after the show was over. It's certainly a lot of knife for the money.

Where would I find them being sold were I interested in picking one up Jim?

Thanks all for the welcome, and for the help on the blade as well. Thats cheap as hell for the amount of blade you get. Unfortunately I paid about double that but I'm still happy. Its a great blade. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, as soon as I got it I sent it off for a sheath but I've been using the DC version and its my go to bushcraft knife. I chopped down a ~4.5 "tree" with very little effort and the blade was still sharp afterwards. What more could I ask for!
