Me too! The length before actual cutting edge kinda bugs me. But I've got the tools to make a nice big finger groove there.
Well I did have a Mud Puppy that filled the niche, but is not another knife.

I passed on the Muk in the store, then I had second thoughts and got one off the Exchange. It is a great knife.
