Please permit me to whine for ten seconds.

I, and I am sure many others, come here to read about Scrapyard Knives.

True Scrapyard Knives is part of the Busse-Kin i.e. Busse Combat and Swamprat.

However, I, and I am sure many others, come here to read about Scrapyard Knives. If we want to read about other things we can go elsewhere.

Why, when some kind of opportunity to purchase Busse Combat or Swamprat appears over on Bladeforums does someone have to make a post here that points to the post on Bladeforums?

I find this highly annoying.

Am I the only one?

Dan and / or Dogs please correct me if I am out of line.

As of my typing this post I count at least seven threads that have NOTHING to do with Scrapyard Knives thus wasting bandwidth, sever space, and the time of the users who come to this forum to read about Scrapyard Knives.

Maybe there should just be the Busse-Kin forum and it can be a free for all of discussion about all three brands?

Again, if I am out of line please correct me. I could just be in drama-queen mode right now. I may need to just

Well, I'm of another opinion for sure. I like the discussion of bussekin and appreciate the postings related to the Swamp and Busse Combat (what I find annoying is my lack of $$ to buy Busse! hah)

I think they have a part in the rules section talking about the need to keep topics on Bussekin (besides comparisons with other makers) so I believe it has Dan's blessing...I'll check the rules after I post...

Shoot, I just like reading about blades in general!

add from the rules thread: First and foremost, the Scrap Yard is suppose to be a fun place where we can hang out and discuss Scrap Yard knives and other Busse knives.

I gotcha RN.

Discussing is one thing but "lookie lookie at what was just posted on Bladeforums" postings are more so what I am getting at.

Stan, with all due respect...I think you hit the nail on the head when you stated you're being a Drama Queen. No offense intended here, as I may be the one out of line, not you. However, I look at the YARD as more of a family of individuals who have gathered around a common cause. There is a brotherhood, of which takes time to explore & become adopted, that doesn't really exist on most forums.

Although the premise is centered around SYKCO, with allowed permission of the family including Busse & Swamp Rat, I think most Dogs come here to socialize with other Dogs and share their experiences. A LOT of the folks here don't keep track of the Busse forums or the Swamp Rat forums and actually get value of the notifications by the friendly Dogs that provide a generous "heads up".

I "try" not to cross-post often...but I have been known to do it, especially when it's something that I felt was a sincere value that I wouldn't want my fellow Dogs to miss out on.

Sincerely,
Ishi

PS - Did you see the post on the Custom Shop Busse's coming to the AG Russell Show???

The chief cause of unhappiness and failure is trading what you want most in life for what you want at the moment.

Well, I know I have done that very thing myself.

Guilty a charged!

We all have stuff that rubs us the wrong way, tomato-tomatoe, live and let live, don't sweat the small stuff etc. etc...

Mods here are great and keep us all on track (and I'm not just saying that so Vic will post more photos of all his awesome new blades- well, maybe..you know the one I'm talking about Vic!) ha!

It's all good...

This is a very freindly family like forum, and many of the Dawgs here don't regularly post on other forums and want to share their scores and thoughts with "their family".

It is good to keep things relatively SYKCO related, but this forum is our home and some Dawgs just don't care to stray from it!

The thing is, most Dogs are also interested in the other two Busse made brands, but choose to hang out here most of the time. Since Dan permits discussion of the other two Busse made brands on this forum, it gives us something we can talk about between Scrap Yard releases. If Busse or Swamp Rat announce something, word is bound to get posted over here, too.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I apologize for the annoyance Stan.
I know that some of the cross posts you are refering to were posted by me.
I didn't realize that anyone would find it "annoying" as opposed to helpful. I meant no harm but only wanted to keep my friends "in the loop".
Ish nailed it saying....

With the AG Russel show so close I wanted to let guys know what was available. Some of our fellow Dogs are hitting the show while others are not but EVERYONE deserves a fair chance to know what is available to buy or maybe line up a proxy.
Also some dogs might be on the fence about going and a post like that might help them decide one way or another.
My sincerest apologies stanley white. I hope this helps you to understand the why.

Steve

Steve,

no biggie.

If the worst thing that happens to me today is being annoyed it is a good day.

Based upon the input from the Dogs I say carry on keeping everyone in the loop!
