Thank you for your blessing Stan.
I know you're a Pooch over here but you are a long time LEGEND at Blade Forums.
I appreciate your input.
I hope the cross posting doesn't stop you from coming over to the Yard!!!

LOL! Stan I give you credit, your trying to help and make the Yard a better place! [Linked Image from i25.tinypic.com]

I personally think the other Busse-Kin folks are trying to help us all out by letting us know what's going on and available.

It's when people post about non-Busse blades that I feel is disrespectful to the Yard and Dan [Linked Image from i28.tinypic.com]

Understand sometimes here long stretches of time no blades come out of the Yard (seasons!) and we want to know about "anything" coming out of Busse-Kin!

Maybe it's a way to "nudge" the boss and hope more comes to us cheap bas...errr Dawgs and who want more Performance to Price Ratio knives!

In any rate thanks for trying brother

Roger that!

No problemo!

Thanks for the lock-on Ishi!

I Stan-corrected!

Always glad to help a brother out, but there's no correction needed...my apologies if my post came across as too direct or negative in any way. I really do like this place though...nice to come read everyone's experiences / sharing while sipping on a little Bourbon after a hard day at the office...helps offload some of the stress.

BTW...great idea on the DSSF sheath in the Spec Ops. You should post that over here for the guys, great busse tech, and EQUALLY applicable to Yard knives!!!

Best,
Ishi

The chief cause of unhappiness and failure is trading what you want most in life for what you want at the moment.

I like hearing about members scores on other Busse made knives. If I am limited on time the Yard is where I read. Just my opinion. BTW, I scored a couple Dogs, a Rat, and preordered a Hog yesterday.

Men you can't trust, women you can't trust, beasts you can't trust, but Bussekin steel you can trust

It wasn't my blessing it was me being schooled appropriately!

A legend? Not me. Thank you for the compliment though.

Nothing this minor would stop me from coming to to the Yard.

Stan - simply based on the replies posted, you can see that the Yard really IS a special place! Many of us are Dogs, Rats, and Hogs, and we are interested in what all three companies post about offerings, shows, etc. I personally started with Bussekin knives via the Swamp Rat brand, but found my home when the Scrap Yard was started. Dan Busse has said that discussion of all Bussekin knives are allowed, just not other brands - unless in a comparison.

Enjoy yourself here at the Yard and jump in any time.

The thing is, most Dogs are also interested in the other two Busse made brands, but choose to hang out here most of the time. Since Dan permits discussion of the other two Busse made brands on this forum, it gives us something we can talk about between Scrap Yard releases. If Busse or Swamp Rat announce something, word is bound to get posted over here, too.

You and Rainwalker nailed it on the head. Its is great to talk ScrapYard, SwampRat, Busse and Busse Custom's...Please do not confuse any of this for me giving Boss Hog a hard time, its my hobby and life style. LOL

Doing comparisons is also cool...we are bunch that likes knives and there can never be enough show and tell. The only line that is drawn is pitching other makers or manufactures.

So jump in and talk it up

Dan

This is me dead-on. I like being able to come here without having to continuously check the other forums and still know whats going on with all 3 brands. INFI and Res-C are my favorites, but the other steels and handle materials all have a place in our collections, especially with the SR-77/101 price/performance. I think the simple fact that Dan has released knives in these steels opens the forum up to all 3 plus Busse 154 and D2

This thread seems like an appropriate one to post in. I just got my preorder confirmation for my Swamp Rat HRLM today!

Did you get canvas handles on that HRLM? I think the paper looks better, but the canvas feels better.

Sage blade, tan canvas handles. Not a huge fan of the design of the paper handles they had pictured. I'm not that familiar with micarta, only ever worked with green phenolic used in aircraft before.
