How is this a problem? Some folks here sound genuinely offended; like they've been robbed of an entitlement. LOL! The shows always have stuff that isn't available at the stores. That includes all three Busse companies. It's funny that this is new to some. It's done as strategy, on purpose, so folks in the area of the show will come and see what's being offered that noone can get.

What's the problem with reselling knives exactly? It's a testament to how cool all the Busse knives are that they go up in value, not down, right? If you don't want it at that price don't get it. You wouldn't even have the option to own one if that person didn't put it up for sale. So what if he's starting the bidding $20 above what he paid. If one person bids on it the Buy It Now goes away, right? So what if it's for sale. I happen to know that seller has about a 1/2 dozen he'll sell off eventually. So what? What's the big deal? Jerry happens to love that this happens, BTW. It makes his offering more appealing to folks knowing that they go up in value on the 2ndary market. Are you going to come along now after 20 years of him being in business and tell him how to run thing?

The only real problem I see here was the official release was not quick enough and some sharp eyed dogs figured out what was going to happen. Usually Dan likes to give us the heads up first. I don't think Jerry is running SYKC out of Wauseon just that he has a lazer cutter set up to blank the knives and now that it is set up for mojos they are cutting all the mojos they can. I imagine the grinding and finish work will be done by Dan in Texas.

Dan wasn't at Knob Creek?

If you go onto another knife site that rhymes with Spadeforums you see pictures of the Busse booth at knob creek. There are clearly some dumpster mutts for sale on the table.

The other issue is how much the base price on them is. The seller has htem listed for 120.00. Is that an indiciation of what the release price will be?

I just talked to that seller. Those Mini Mojos and Uncle Mojos were offered at Knob Creek for $119.95 (his starting bid). The Buy it Now will disappear as soon as it's bid on. The market will do what it's going to do. I think it's a testament to how cool the Busse's all are that they go up in value. I can't think of another production company that can state this. (I know Randall's, but I think of them as customs)

I don't think they'll be any more than $120 when they come out then... Could even be a little less!

Thanks for the inside info Jeff! - Dan

As much as I hate the idea of people buying up a bunch of knives only to flip on ePrey a few days later, you are absolutely correct about this. Busse/Swamp Rat always had special releases of knives that were sold only at shows and they always turn up for resale on the net within a day or two later. Nothing new or unusual here. I was kinda shocked to hear talk of "reporting the sale to Dan" or speculation that "Dan wasn't aware of what was going on".

I thought $120 was high myself, considering the price of the Scrapper 6's of equal size. Maybe they've decided they've been low balling so far? I've always felt they were, but don't tell Dan I said that.
