The back roads arent nearly as crowded, and much more pleasurable to ride. At least that's how I remember riding.

They are still my preference. You can slow down and enjoy the ride.

Seems like every other vehicle on the highways wants to off you though.

We have the Blue Ridge Parkway here, it runs from upper Virginia to upper Georgia, controlled access and only 45 mph speed limit for most of it. Purely a scenic ride, and the best in this part of the country. I'd like a bike just to ride it to the parkway and on the parkway if nothign else

That sounds nice to me! I like being able to look around and enjoy the area I am in.

Beats all the hustle and bustle of riding on the highway. All commercial traffic is banned there too, so no worrying about trucks, just RV's and such

I always hate driving around semi trucks, even in my pickup. I've been swerved on way too many times.

Yup. Even if the driver sees you, a strong cross wind or gust can easily push a trailer over several feet!

Tricky enough to drive for a good driver, and you get one that's not paying attention it'll kill you quickly. You're right, doesnt' take much wind to push a semi over a few feet, especially if it's a gusting wind.
