We don't have a Gym like that around here, closest one is 25 miles away!

All I do is walk on the treadmill or eliptical, and maybe lift a little. I'm just trying to lose some weight and get in a little better shape. And yes, I know that round is a shape, but I'm trying to be a little less round <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Haha, I as well, unfortuately resemble that remark!

Nope, no pro shooting, just for her/us. But it is the only thing that she is REALLY into in a sorta big way. Takes it everywhere.

My college degree is in photography, and you know what I do for a living. But I still shoot a little for the paper, and for myself when I have time. But I still don't do as much with it as I would like to.

I would really like to get her that 28?-135 IS lens, but man that thing is like 650! WAY out of our range, at least for the next several months. But I would give up almost anything to be able to get her one.

Look online at KEH camera gear. They sell used equipment and pretty good prices.

Are they trustworthy? I know I probably shouldn't be asking that on a public forum, but after just missing getting skint BAD by a place in NY, I am REAL cautious about electrinic/photo gear over the internet unless recommended by some one I trust.

I remembered you talking about photo being your degree. That's why I trust you and EVO's opinion.

What was that about an interview you were talking about? I must have missed something.

I was interviewing a guy from Delta Force back in the Cold War days about a new video game called Black Ops he was the military adviser for. Had a hard time keeping him on track about the game, but he had some great stories.

Mike is much more knowledgeable than I am, he does it professionally and does it every day. He also uses Canon, if I remember correctly, so he may be more help than I am. I do ok with taking the pics, but my shortcoming is in processing. I'm not good at all with Photoshop.

JJ Cool, just thought I would pass it along.

Todd, yeah I've been looking at the Canon 55-250mm IS zoom lens. Wally world has them on sale for like $229.00 Know anything about that lens?

Any lens with that kind of zoom range and in that price range will have distortion issues, mostly aberrations (blurry spots) around the edges of the frame.

For prosumer and amateur shooting it should be fine though. We aren't talking about crazy blur.

I know it's not a top of the line lens, but it seems better quality than the 75-300 non-IS we got in a package deal with her camera. And that lens does fine for her. She's just a recreational shooter, takes pics for herself and once in a while for someone else and they are always very appreciative. But thanks for the info JJ.

Camera gear is MUCH worse than knives for being expensive! My camera bag is worth more than my truck LOL! And I don't even carry much of my gear in it at a time, just what I need for the trip I'm on.

But then again, my truck is old too...
