so here's my tale of woe.

two weeks ago i was bored, and was skimming through some friends' friends lists on facebook. i notice a girl that use to work for me '04, she was a server and i was a kitchen manager at the time, and we had a lot of fun working together. she was 9 years younger than me so it was pretty much just playing around, talking smack, punching each other in the arm playing around. she left after a couple of months and i had seen or heard from her since.

so anyway i send in a friend request, thinking at most i'll get the standard, "hey what's up?", and maybe the odd comment or two. well she opens up with "hey what's up?" and then sends me here phone number and tells me to text her to catch up.

we start texting back and forth, the rest of the day catching up and flirting back and forth. she then asks me where i'm at and i tell her i moved about an hour away. she then asks me when my next day off, so we can get together and really catch up. i find out that my first day off would be last sunday, about 7 days away when she asked me to come see her. she said great, can't wait for me to come down yada yada yada.

so the rest of the week goes by slowly counting the days down till we can get together, and each day we get more playfull texting back and forth, she worked days and i worked nights and inbetween we would send a flurry of messages back and forth. she told me about getting married and divorced and having a daughter, which should have sent up so red flags, but i figured i'm getting to a point in life that finding someone not married and divorced or without a kid is getting slimmer and slimmer.

as we're shooting texts back and forth she's telling me how she had the biggest crush on me when we were working together, and sent me a couple of pics on my phone of her. she has me tuck her in everynight, tell her sweet dreams and such.

i figure i'm doing good, things are working out good, the days fly by, we have a good schedule of messaging going back and forth. we get the plans for sunday nailed down, i'll meet her after she gets out of work and we'll go out for drinks and dinner.

so then thursday rolls around and i don't get any response from my message. finally about a hour later i get a response, that she's out with a "friend" and will get back to me in a few. she messages me and hour later and the messages are short and she says she cant talk long cause of work and has to go to bed. same thing happens friday. she messages me she's out having a good time with "friends" and will talk when she gets home. hour later she sends me a message, she's tired, and can't talk, got to go to bed. now my eyebrows are raised, cause she's saying she's out with a friend or friends and the tone of the messages change from flirty to short yes no yes no answers.

saturday rolls around, i'm sorted hyped cause i think things still have a good chance of going well. send her a message, no answer. wait till i go to work before i send another one. no answer. send one before i go to bed, no answer.

sunday rolls around, still no reply from yesterdays texts, nothing on facebook either. finally i send a message aroun noon saying i'm leaving in about an hour and i'm going to watch the games with my dad in town and let me know when she gets off work and i'll head to her place.

finally i get a reply, that says she thinks it best if i don't come on down. i ask why? her response is "it's personal", to which i reply, "come again?" and i start hearing the train derailing. her response is to tell me that she doesn't think it's going to work out, and everytime i ask why or what's happing is, i get the same response "it's personal" and won't get any further than that.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so move on a couple of hours, and she posts on her facebook account, that she thanks some one for the starbucks this morning, that day was great, that she got to go the carolina panthers game and drink some beer,"Had a great day!". This is after she's been telling me she had to work on sunday all week before hand.

at this point i feel like carving my heart out with a spoon. i delete her number off my phone, and off my friends list on facebook. and i'ver been fighting the urge to drive down and fill her gastank with sugar and flatten all her tires.

so goes my tale of woe.

Dont sweat it Bro! She just did you a big favor! I had a 30 minute concersation last week with a guy in the grocery store who was torn up about a women. All I can say is that the right one shouldnt be so willing to put you through all that crap! With so much @$!# going on you gotta believe that a quality women will want no parts of that mess.

I will may it say million times again but i thank the guy that told me...

yeah, but it ruined what could've been a good weekend, had some plans with the family even if nothing went right that got blown away

She just saved you a ton of problems, time and money. No need to be angry. You found out everything you need to know before you even saw her again.

better to loose a weekend than years, the house, the kids, your sanity....

that chick just denied herself some awesome meals anyways!

yeah the old it's too good to be true phrase comes to mind.

then again it's easy to get fooled when they send you things like this
