It has a smoky grey blade that didn't show so well in this shot. I was trying something new and spent to much time looking for some flint arrowheads I have. Never did find them. I've always wanted an knapped blade so I had to get these.

Oh wow Ted, the way the lighter leather shows throught the blade. I read many years ago that SOME surgeons are/were using knapped blades instead of scalpels and the cut they were getting was much cleaner and easier to make. They actually said the knapped blades were sharper than the steel ones.

Glass, and glassy minerals, such as obsidian, can fracture down to the molecular level – so it is possible to get a knapped blade with an edge ~500 sharper than is possible with steel. That said, it's not necessarily an easily acheived task to succeed at that.
