If memory serves me right Isn't horsehide thinner but stiffer than cowhide?

I like the patterns in horse hide. You get some neat natural patterns. And a back strap is way cheaper than cow hide.

Thinner. Stiffness is relative. But yes both being equal thickness horsehide is stiffer.

My biggest gripe with Kydex is attaching it to my belt. All my kydex sheaths but one have tec-locks, and they just hold it too far off my waist. I hit stuff right and left with the knife. The other one has a Molle back attached to it, and it doesn't feel very secure on my belt.

About 15 years ago I almost bought a holster from a guy in Great Britan, Horseshoe leather I think his company name was.
