Just a fast "howdy guys" - the Tulsa show was pretty sweet. I ended up with only a Busse Combat HG-55 for me and a custom Tankbuster for a HOG over at B/F. However, I DID pick up a "new condition" 50th anniversary edition of a Ruger Mark II for the General -- and she loves it!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Sounds like you did ok, if you made the General happy!

Randy, got some fresh deer meet this evening. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Bad thing is, my daughter hit it with her car. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbdn.gif" alt="" />
Didn't do too much damage, and I got a yearling spike out of it. Yummmmmm, tenderloin!

I was on my way to work and my daughter was ahead of me by about 30 seconds, if that much. I came round the turn and saw her standing beside her car looking out in the weeds. Was almost late to work, but I put the deer down and called my dad to come pick it up. I'll be butchering it tomorrow when I get up.

I gave away two good sized deer friday morning. One was a 6 point buck that had his antlers knocked clean off! That was ok though, the guy that took the deer said he needed some rattlers anyway.

Don't know about where you are but here the conservation commission gives us "ticket" books. We just record who, what, when, where and the deer is theirs. Has no impact towards them shooting their limit either.

I was less than 1/4 mile from Dad's house, he came and picked it up to butcher it. Techically aren't supposed to do that, but the game wardens will tell you to take them home if you can use the meat.

If I had to, I'd use a tag on it. I've got two, and won't use but one hunting. Mostly, I look for does to kill for meat, the third week of the season is either-sex here, if I haven't killed a buck by then I usually get a doe or two.

yeah the "tag/ticket" idea here I think is pretty good. They of course get a copy of it and it is just like a deer tag. They can take it to have processed and just need to show the processer the "Permit". Better idea than just leaving it to rot beside the road. I actually gave away 3 bucks one night, one was a big bodied 8 pointer. NICE DEER!

Here, at one time just a few years ago IF you did the Bow thing, Black Powder and regular rifle season AND had a farm you could legally kill either 5 or 7, I foget which although I am leaning toward 5.

Two antlered and two does here for a 3 week season. If I go east one county, I can hunt till Jan 1., but ours ends Dec. 11. I hunt heavy the first week, then mostly evenings the last two weeks. I'm not much on sitting in the cold anymore.

I guess I'm not much of a hunter. Don't like sitting out in the cold, and can't stand the heat cause I worry about snakes. But our season hits just right, so I can still hunt and it's not freezing cold, at least not most of the time

I've not done any hunting since I got back. Don't know, just not really into it anymore. Plus If I want deer meat I can have some just about any time I want. Someone is always willing to part with some. We've got our regulars on a call list and depending on where in the county one gets hit we have about a dozen folks we can call that will take one year round.
