I ran across this at the other forum and it interesting. The test is not very scientific and the force looks to vary a bit from knife to knife but interesting non the less.

This was the post.

Interesting but as you point out Bors, highly inconsistent. Sometimes he really winds up other times he gives it a half hearted effort.

Need something like the pneumatic cannon that knifetests.com used to test the CS Bushman used as a spearpoint. Consistent pressure and distance for each and every test

That was a cool test. Did you guys see that he's looking to do a destruction test on a BM and a DF?

I prefer to put the blades to my own test. It's more fun that way!

I don't really understand the point of that soft-armor penetration test. To a knife, soft body armor is basically another piece of cloth.

Not necessarily, some knives will easly pass through while others will be turned. This has a lot to do with design even expensive knives will fail. Like I said this test was very subjective due to the differences in applied force however, in the real world applied force is not a constant either.

I was quite surprised at how well the SRK performed given the blade geometry. Based on this I'll bet the DM would do well

Hey Bors, cool vid.! That fixed blade Strider knife, is a SA cord wrapped, I used to have one!
Im sure any of my fixed blade Striders or Strider folders would go thru that Kevlar with ease!
