Oh Man, I would hate to get a call like that. Any access to tracking dogs?

We have some, but it's an hour to where the call is from here and we're just now getting in route. Furtherest northern end of Burke County. Look it up on a map sometime. Just a little village about 30 miles up the mountain and only one way to get there from here.

Do you know if it was intentional or just a kid that got lost?

Great! If he's messed up on drugs he may not even be aware that he's in trouble! This could VERY easily turn into a J4.

I guess the key is to get there as fast as possible so the area to look in is small?

Yeah, plus with the cold temps, wind and snow the track will be harder to pickup/follow. BUT if there is snow (some) tracking COULD be made a bit easier as prints would be left, if the wind isn't blowing to hard.

Just got a call that the kid was found. Praise the Lord! He wouldn't have lasted long in that weather.

He got a ride to another friend's house and called his ex from there. Glad he called, otherwise we'd have had a SAR team out for no reason.
