I drink canned beer for the most part, when I can't get a ice cold draft, but I'm willing to bet that the hook will stab the hell out of an aluminum can.

The bottle has a glass ring that keeps the hook from getting under the cap as well as the hook edge is rounded to direct force to the bottom of the hook.  I am not sure if it would work on other bottles Dan |  |  |

i'll let you know how it works when my hook gets here (first thing i plan to do with it is open a nice bottle of porter....) 
 We need a 5/16" (or thicker) SR-77 BOWIE!!! (Written back in early '07 -- Regulator Premonition?)
