I finally got around to putting a proper edge on my mud puppy, it is scary how sharp 154 gets, I mean, it will shave hair and you don't even feel it Are you using a Kalimazoo 42"?

Morning fellas...
Wow, what a week.
I need to get into the 1911 scene one of these days. Right now...priority is on a NFA Trust, so funds for a pistol are out of the question. Have you guys ever looked at STI, by chance? I hear they are a "great" starter 1911....but have no basis on that....ie: quality parts in the right places, but not custom. Just found out recently that they are in my backyard....thinking about checking them out someday.
How's that STAG treating you, Jared? Morning! I've only taken it out once to shoot, everytime I think about hitting up the outdoor range which is near my house, or someone calls me to go shooting, I always have other things to do, really need to get out

Ishi, don't know about now but in years gone past they were noted as being VERY good guns. If memory serves, I THINK they were one of the first to get into the double stack 45 bandwagon and HIGH cap mags.

What kind of supplier should I look for in Austin? Think groups like Grainger have them? Good idea on searching local...hadn't considered it. And I REALLY need a 42"...that small one from HF does the job, but it's lacking in control.

Biggest #1 problem with buying guns....never enough time to actually "enjoy" them. Other than NFA...I've reverted to spending my money on things that will get me in the woods to use my rifles. My latest purchase was a setup from http://www.feederlights.com/ I got one that will mount on a tripod, and light up a 150yd area....too bad the little piggies can't see the light!! The one I got mine from is called AAA tools, the brand is JET, I think the regular price is 120 or 130, which is still good, we get a small discount cause we buy most of our tools from them, no speed control though, which would be nice
