I have a DF, but no experience with either of the other two. I do have a Kershaw Outcast, 10-inch recurve blade and chops like nobodys business...

Evening guys! I have only a DF and I can tell You that thing chops anything in its path. But I have nothing to compare it to. It keeps edge pretty well also.

My Outcast chops great, but it's handle leaves something to be desired. Gives me a blister every time I use it for more than a minute or two.

I bought two of the cheap cold steel kukri's that are on knifetest.com. I gave one an edge tonight and it shaves hair. I'm gonna chop some 2x4's tomorrow

I've never really used my DF for much, cut a few branches back with it is about all. So I can't say how well it chops, but I'm going to find out soon enough...camping season is coming quick!

hey Ish,
What would you say is your average yardage shot when you are hunting pig? 100+?

hey Ish,
What would you say is your average yardage shot when you are hunting pig? 100+? I typically find myself in two scenarios: 1) stand hunting over bait....which we typically setup at 125 yards or so. 2) stalking through thickets....I like my red-dot with hi-caps for this, as shots and encounters are usually within 10-15 yards....and out to 50 yards given some type of scattering. The red-dot has proven great in tracking a moving target! I'm not ex-mil...so it has taken me some time to learn to use the system to the most advantage.

Funny story, I was having some concrete poured and I had to clear some thick vines out that had grown over the fence, they were about an inch thick and I brought out the DF and started chopping it and after about 2 minutes I had it all cleared all the concrete guy said was " Im kinda scared of that knife...!"
