Nice to have a workout area of your own, even a simple one. I need a place like that at home. I'd buy a treadmill and a bench and some dumbbells, do all I do at the gym.

Most of the time I just say I am so OLD I remember when dirt was still mud! As in the beginning....

That's about what I have. Not a big fan of running, so my bike is on a trainer turning it into a stationary. The dumbbells I have are awesome. Quick and simple weight adjustment. I use resistance bands as well, and when I really want to get my heart rate up, I either jump rope (try it for ten minutes and you'll see what I mean) or I hold two fifty bumbbells and go up and down my stairs. I have four floors.

I tell people that I'm older than the hills but not as old as the dirt.

JJ, you ever seen a 300+ lb man jumping rope? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I didn't think so. I do pretty good to walk on the treadmill for 30-45 min, that gets my heart going good enough! I walk at 3.0 mph on about a 2 deg incline, that gets my heartrate up to 145-150, which is about as fast as I need to take it right now per my trainer.

Sounds like your trainer knows what he is talking about.

That reminds me though. There was a well endowed woman jumping rope in the gym yesterday. Come to think of it, it shouldn't be a surprise I wasn't concentrating on my form.

I should say not! Did she leave with two black eyes?

Jumping rope ain't no picnic! And neither would walking up and down stairs with and additional 100 pounds!

My knees are not in good shape. Messed them up crawling around under F4's for two years on the concrete.

No, but she caught me watching her a few times. But, she just gave me a little smirk.

We've got a few like that in the gym I go to. They enjoy being watched, and don't try to hide it. Mostly older women too, strangely enough.

The Thigh machine is what always got me distracted. Funny thing, the most used machine in the base gym was right across from it.

Of course, our gym caters to more mature people, average age in there is probably in the 40's, with a lot of retirees in there. Very few teens and 20-somethings in there.
