It wasn't a fixed blade, whole different animal, folders.

I carried that knife for years, till I got a Buck folder. It worked great for skinning deer, Dad used it to skin quite a few. He'd use his till it got dull, then use mine.

Yup, it was a good much coveted by hunter skinner. I knew a guy who dabbled in leather work back in '81 that use it as his primary leather working blade.

I cut myself more with that little Uncle Henry than I ever have with a fixed blade. Mostly due to closing the blades on my fingers. Couldn't count how many times I did that.

That's why I only carry lockblades now, even for my smallest knives. I have some slipjoints, but don't carry them much.

I'm like you, couldn't count the times a slipjoint closed on me.

I've got a few now, but they don't get carried as my only knife. May stick one in my bag to peel apples with, but thats about it.

It was raining here earlier when I took the puppy outside but we're still at 38 so it's not that bad.

Weather man said we're getting snow Wed night, then calling for a big warmup next weekend, talking in the 70's. I can't wait till spring!
