Ouch. In all the years carrying a folder I have not ran into that problem. Is the lock loose on it?

Ah yes, Bruce, the eternal optimist! I did cut myself once by reaching into my pocket when a cheap S&W linerlock had come open just enough to catch my trigger finger. That is why I usually carry lockbacks, the spring holds them closed and I am used to carrying point up. The deployment of the blade seems more natural to me that way. I have since understood why all linerlocks are carried point down! Anyway, the weather was perfect and da yoots and I had a great time at the blessing of the fleet.

Yes, it is. Bonnie, the blonde has had a few dates. The boys she chooses seem to be into knives, swords, and guns themselves. Go figure. One poor kid saw Bonnie's knife collection and was stunned. I sharpened his katana. No kid with dull knives or swords is allowed to date MY girls!

I've never played with a Camillus Heat....hope it turns out to be a knife that u like...
But I've been thinking about the question of this thread "best AO folder under $70"......so I was doing some web shopping and came upon the Kershaw Cyclone.....mostly because it has a "switchable" on/off switch for the AO action (from what I understand it's a little wheel you rotate on the spine of the handle.....that can be had for around $50 from this place (which I've successfully ordered from multiple times in the past)....

....but it does outweigh the Heat by at least 1 oz....
After scanning Kershaw's forum on Bladeforums....it's no surprise that the "spring" mechanism on their AO knives will sometimes fail.....but their warranty service is top notch....I figure if I was gonna get an AO I might as well get it from one of the more prolific AO companies in the USA... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
So my Leeks and Chive have this (cheap-looking) safety switch at the "butt" of the handle (looks like a piece of plastic/Zytel that slides over the tip of the blade when the knife is folded) that's not too reassuring to me....and while I haven't ever played with/held a Cyclone/Mini-Cyclone, the safety mechanism on it seems "a little more reassuring"....
Aside from this, I know that the factory edge on most Kershaw folders are a little too obtuse for my liking (approx 40 degrees inclusive)....mostly coz I have mostly Spyderco folders which on average have a factory edge of 30 deg. inclusive or less.... but I know u're pretty good with reprofiling edges (I saw your penetrator tips thread)... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

That is good info, Brian. BTW, I have ordered quite a few knives from Savson. They usually beat most others in prices, and the service is fast.

I told her that the blessing of the fleet should count as worship, but she is way more Catholic than I'll ever be. Heathens just naturally like to worship outdoors, I guess.
