I have plenty of regular brass right now. I may pick up some new brass for precision loads but thats low on my list. I need to pick up some dies for my 45/70. I have the brass, primers and powder just need the bullets and the dies and I am good to go.

This year I should be able to head back down to Texas for some hog hunting in the fall. That should give the 45/70 a good workout again.

That 45/70 is one of my favorite rifles to shoot. I like the lever guns. That one is my baby.

Be a good bear gun, I'd think. Might be a bit much on hogs here...

I'd like to have a .44 Mag lever gun for hogs. Or anything else around here, for that matter. Even our bears wouldn't be too much for that.

I used it for hogs in 09, It works like a charm. Doesn't take to much meat and plants them right where they stand. Or run.

I thought about getting a .450 Bushmaster upper for my AR for deer hunting in the brush. That would be a handy package for hogs too, I believe.

How much would a set of dies cost for the .45/70?

I have the original guide gun with a ported 18 inch barrel. Its a great brush gun. I put some heavy duty ghost ring sights and a custom trigger on it. It's fast and smooth.

Dies are about 35 bucks. I just need to pick them up sometime.

the 450 would do the trick. I have a co-worker that uses that or the 450 socom on hogs.
