Now I would bet that the Res-C machine is limited to the the only about 4 or so handel types like the ones on the Scrapper-6/Dogfather/Hook and Guard, Howling Rat/Bandicoot, Street Scrapper 4/Bog Dog (mudder), and the Basics like the Dumpster Mut. BUT I DON"T KNOW FOR SURE, Dan can do amazing things. That would leave us with a large hachet type thing that has a Dogfather type handel I could chop with that all day long.
give me feed back, what say ye?

I hate to burst the bubble but it looks like most folks want different things when it comes to swords. I'd like the kukri myself. Or a single edged shortsword. I think a replacement for the 18 in. armed forces machete might be a good idea. Make it no larger than that, with whatever blade style as long as it will outperform the machete on chores and shouldn't be hard to outperform it in combat if it has even a mediocre tip. Something like this might have a chance to see a lot of orders from military personnel so it might actually have a chance of making the retooling costs worth it.

So I'm not so sure that a 2+ pound DF type knife would be popular but I might be wrong. The fact that you not break it and that you could hack through cinder block walls might off set the weight issue. You can count me in if Dan makes one. Welcome to the yard

I have used Becker, Cold Steel, Collins, Ontario, Galivan, Condor, True Temper, Tramontina, and others. I may not be an expert on all knives, but I know machetes well and use them all Summer. It would have to be the machete from hell to justify one from SYKCO. I have yet to find one that works better than a $6.00 Tramontina. I think a short combat sword would make more sense for SYKCO. Besides, the Army seems to be in the desert more lately than the jungle. Just my opinion.

Persoanlly I don't want a sword. That's just me. An axe type thingy on the other hand, well that get's me all watery eyed just hinking about it.

I think the rake idea rocks. Talk about a good companion to the yard guard.

We have to consider the limits of their CNC machine and heat treating apparatus though. I'm sure there's some sort of size limit involved there.

Well I'm guessing that Scrapyard are made in the same place that Busse and Swamp Rats are made. And if jerry Busse can offer the AK-47 then dan could certainly do something.
Dan has already stated that he doesn't plan on making a sword. I don't know his reasons behind this but I suspect that it has to do with margins. I'd guess that he can make more money making knives that a lot of people will buy versus swords that are probably even a smaller niche of the knife buying population that not a lot of people will buy. Scrapyard is after all a business. And the philosophy of scrapyard is all about the price to performance ratio; giving us a good performing knife at a good price.
Personally, I have no desire for a sword. I'd rather have some sort of axe/hatchet type thing (come on Knobganza be good to me). However, that's just me.
