Figure of speech Tom. I mean he does get paid for whatever it is he does.

Well, I have to go put up about 30 feet of fence, so I'll see you later!

That could be taken a couple different ways Tom!

I come from a small village surrounded by wild nature and I have enjoyed many a fine evening fishing along the river bank or further up in the mountain lakes. Me and my friend would be camping out in nature without seeing anyone for days, a wonderful feeling. After the army, my studies etc, and then working about 6-7 years in my hometown, I now have moved close to the capital (being a somewhat "urban" type). However, suddenly there is no real wild nature, only patches of forest and lots of farmland.

P-Easy: That starry sky picture made me remember more than anything how wonderful it was to live close to "real nature", a blessing really. No hassle when wanting to take to the forest and try out some knives or do whatever you feel like. Here it feels "crowded". People run around and exercise, either by foot or by skis, wherever you turn, and you really dont get any "room". Bah.

I have to say I'm envious of you people who have found peace out in the wild. Its not unthinkable that I will choose this path myself at some point.

Chris, talk to Coldone, our Nanook of the North. He once lived WAY up in the Canadian Yukon and I am sure that he could put you in touch with some REAL isolated places. But you would have to relocate a few miles! Oh I think he once said that it was 250 miles to the nearest "Supermarket"!

Wow, sounds like you have to be quite self sufficient to live out in those neck of woods. A friend of mine spent a whole winter with only his dogs as company on a hunters cabin up in the arctic regions. You're basically dropped off some distance to the cabin, then a ship will come and pick you up when spring arrives. Obviously you have some canned food and stuff, but other than that you have to provide for yourself (and chase away curious polar bears to avoid them getting too comfortable with being close to people). No doubt he came out of the experience a stronger man.

And yeah, I would have to move a "few" miles to move up there I do love Canada however. Was there one time, in Montreal (which obviously is not the same), a few years ago.

Hey Todd, you back at work tonight?

One more night off, go back Wednesday night. I'm actually ready to go back, hasn't been a good week off.

Chris, he lived in a "town". But he said one morning as his wife walked off of the porch she was almost literally knocked over by a Moose cow and her calf!

Skunk: Well, actually it was almost like that where I lived the past 6 years, although a little less remote. We had badgers, hares, foxes, moose, deer, snow mice, cranes and a whole lot of other birds right outside of the house on the property we lived, much due to the fact that the property was a partly secluded farm that bordered to the river. Man, I sometimes wish I were back. Fortunately I managed to "overlap" the house to a friend of mine, the only condition being that a bed is ready for visits from me
