All right, I think I might like to acquire a new folder in S30v and was wondering what experiences the Yard has with this steel. So far I've considered the Cabelas Alaskan Guide Buck 110, can't beat the price for a classic. Then theres the Leatherman Klamath, nothing on BF in regards to this one...I like the gut hook feature, which would be handy if I ever managed to kill anything larger than a squirrel or pheasant. And of course theres the Kershaw Bump, likin the titanium version. And last but not least a Benchmade. First quality knife I ever bought was a Benchmade and its still my number one pocket knife. Sooo, what do you think? I'd like your opinions and what knives have you handled, used, good and bad. Thanks, Tom.

Hey bro you should try a Strider folder, in S30V many flavors to choose from! AR,GB,SMF,SNG,RC, & RCC, once you do you will be hooked & you won't carry another folder again, there built like a tank!!!
I own six Strider folders & I carry at least two everyday & a fixed blade Strider or my new scrapYard DM!

I like the Strider models too. They are rock solid / titanium liners or frame locks on most. Their S30V blades are pretty thick too.

Hey BozoR,

A fantastic quality and materials s30v folder that runs about 135 is the Benchmade Mini Rukus. I have one of the Alaskan Guide Buck 110 and have no complaints on it either. It was cheap compared to some of the folders out there. Mine was Bos treated and is a beautiful classic knife to boot. The bench made will literally fall open when you pull the axis lock back and locks up solid as a rock. you can easily operate it one handed and just feels right in my hand. You probably can't go wrong with many of the choices above. I carry my s30v/G10 Leek in my pocket and Mini Rukus or Regular Rukus when I need a larger folder.
You've got alot of very good choices out there.

Please choose wisely!

+1 on the Benchmade S30V knives. My new favorite is the Osborne 940:

I would consider a sebenza if I had the cash. My friends Chris Reeve recurve fixed blade is truly a thing of beauty.

Tom,
the alaskan guide rocks. I ended up buying two.
First choice? A sebenza. Just bought my first recently, very possibly the finest folder in existence.
Second choice? Doug Ritter gripper. You would not believe how nice it is, without seeing it in person. I like it so much, I plan on buying the mini version, as well as the new fixed blade model.
For reeeeal inexpensive walmart has natives for around 5o smackers.
Good luck,
joseph

Don't forget the Rat Trap! I'm sure it has a better warranty that most companies too.

The Manix is a great knife it's built like a bank vault. I had one and traded it off. Might get another one tho. You really can't go wrong with Spyderco.

Here are some pics.
