My experience is that police trade ins have been shot a little, and carried a lot. However, sometimes you get that one that's had the snot shot out of it. Check the bore carefully, disassembled if possible. I'd hold the bore up to a light source, and look at the lands and grooves. If they're still pretty sharply defined, it will still be decently accurate. Also, since you've got it taken apart, take a good look at the sears and springs. The striker funtion should be brisk and sharp, not sluggish and muffled. The sears should be sharply defined (I'm not all that familiar with glocks, but a clean sear is a happy one!) and fit and function without binding or sluggishness. Make sure the frame isn't cracked or beaten up either. A polymer framed pistol is more likely to have cracks in the frame that are hidden. Try to gently flex the frame just a bit along its longest axis, in all directions. That should allow you to spot any cracks or seperations in the polymer.

All good advice from everyone here. Just give it a good looking over and get a feel for it. If it feels solid enough, it probably is. firearms don't lie like people can.

I like my old duty G-22 way better than my new one. It just plain shoots better. Of course it was well broken in. Probably 15 to 20 thousand rounds through it.

I've always liked the way the CZ pistols look, they're awesome. Although I understand the slides can be hard to manipulate because of the small amount of slide to gain purchase on.

I have been tempted to pick up a CZ pistol. If they are made anything like their rifles they have to be top notch.

I've heard nothing but praise for the CZ-75, One of The Best Bang for your Buck handguns from what everyone says, I want to get a Stainless One. Just gonna pick up the 82 as a fun plinker/ truck gun. it's $189!
