So far so good! Just waiting til 0530!

Time I get home, I'll have been awake 24 hours. I'm about ready for bed!

Tomorrow we will be working on our garden, and it's going to be around 90 degrees! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> I have a lot of raking to do before we actually put our started plants in the ground, plus drive posts and stretch chicken wire for fencing. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

Sounds like more work that I care for in a garden. I prefer to go to the produce stand and buy mine. I think it comes out cheaper once you figure in your labor.

Well, we have plenty of land for a garden, good composted soil, and time to fool with it. I LOVE fresh tomatoes and green peppers, as well as other vegetables. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

My dad always goes overboard. This year, he's got over 100 tomato plants in the ground. Do you know how many tomatos will come off that many plants? More than I care to think about! Same for peppers, beans, corn and everything else.

He's such an over achiever in the garden, so I always get mine from him. IF he doesn't have something I want, there is a produce stand down the highway.

Good for him! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Plenty of fresh goodies for his use, and he can share them with family, friends, and neighbors. That is, if he doesn't have his own vegetable stand set up! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> If times continue to get tough, he will be a hero to some folks who need help with food too!

Mom always cans stuff all summer long. They have shelves in the basement built from sheets of plywood, and I'll bet there are 12 of them crammed full of canned foods.

Good for them again!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> If there is any kind of major problem in their area they will not be without food. Floods, tornadoes, power outages etc. will not hold them hostage. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I'm going to bed now so that I can get some work done tomorrow. I've eaten many a meal from those storage shelves. During lean times, it's nice to have them to fall back on.
