SS while I would never have used it I still sort of regret not getting a grey and tan FBM. Someone posted a pic on BF, and it looks just beautiful.. But it would have just been a white elephant so I didn't.

In the spirit of metal information, found this on blade forums:

S7 Impact toughness at Rc of 57 = 125 (ft-lbs)
CPM3V Toughness at Rc of 58 = 85 (ft-lbs)
CPM3v Imp.Toughness Rc of 60 = 50 (ft-lbs)
A2 Impact Toughness at Rc 60 = 40 (ft-lbs)
D2 Impact Toughness at Rc 60 = 21 (ft-lbs)

S7 really stands out! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

Oh good I am not the only one playing that painful game.

I did that with the FBM for months. Fill it out for a black coating with magnum G-10 grips, see the price of $472, and close it. Did that for months, until the Dogfather was anoounced. Then there was that exact combination for sale on a forum for $450. Almost pulled the trigger, but just could not justify the cost to myself.

Whew, I'm NOT alone after all.

Thanks my brothers.

Peace.

If SR-77 is anything like AngelSword's S7 with ThermaCycle (and Dan's comments make me think it is), its toughness in the same impact test is 250 ft-lbs.

Whether SR77 is closer to 125 foot pounds or 250 foot pounds of toughness, it's a world away from the fantasy-land bs about stainless steels being tough.

I'm addicted to S7 and maybe SR77. Might need to sell the INFI that didn't do any cutting to get my next fix.

SR-77 - McClaren F1
Stainless steel - civic with wing, decals and oversized muffler.

Hmmm... Actually, the SR-77 should be a hooked up 5 liter fox mustang... Priced cheap but is a crazy performer! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
