...... I just want to maintain the convex edge so what grit do you think I should get, the green? I have no experience using, just buying and researching. They have a white that is more on the rough side. the green is for fine and black is more rough iirc.

Nite TT, good luck with the studies. Understand, the black is a quicker cutting IE more aggressive grit so I think I would use the green and black. Thanks!

I would recommend coarse edge stropping. Classicshaving.com has some 10 Micron diamond compound or you could go with silicon carbide powder @ 600-1200 grit. If you were to go from a medium stone finish to a ultra fine compound the results would never be consistent, it would be just like going from a 220 stone to a 8000 stone. Coarse stropping would give you the edge you like consistently, it also reduces the burr issue because the backing has cushion. Burrs are caused by pressure and a soft backing greatly reduces their formation.

Almost forgot, Hard Felt! It's made for de-burring and can be used with compound. Works fast too.

Ok Cool, thanks KN. Do you also think that the black would be what I would probably want to use?
