T1, no not yet, just playing around with some old sand paper I had laying around. On my shift at work, a lot of times it's slow.

Nice Blade Steeley! As Skunk said itīs karambit -like so similar combat applications might be used! Btw did you get those sharpening stones?

Great pictures Skunk! It was nice to read some good news about you and your wife! Did you do a v-grind to your WarDog as I did?
Thanks T1! And no I havnt gotten those stones yet. I found some 1/2" triangle ruby stones from congress tools that I can get in grits as low as 80 grit I believe. Thy fit the sharpmaker so I may go with those 120 grit and a 320 grit for about 30 bucks.

Quite rough stones. Youīll need something to finish the job. Tough itīs nice when you can save some money. I remember that you were talking about 100$...

Skunk I tried that sandpaper mousepad -thing and it worked but I didnīt manage to make the blade razor sharp. I thought that maybe you canīt get a convex blade as razor. At least razors arenīt convex sharpened. After I made the v-grind the WarDog became a Warzor - or something... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Yah I have the 600 and 1000 grit stones. Then I am looking at the edge pro apex polishing tales for a mirror finish.

Ok. Sounds like a plan. I really have to get a proper strop. I used a leather belt when I was sharpening the WarDog.

I need to learn how to sharpen a cOnvex edge because that's kinda what holds me back on buying Swamp Rat knives.

Ok. As I said before I can understand convex on the big choppers but not on the small knives. There are exceptions of course like the intended use of the knife regardless of the size.

I know my Rodent Solution I had was convexed. I am not a big fan of convex; Sabre or FFG for me.
