You do know that they have proved that people are more afraid of a knife than they are of a gun don't you?
Psychologically people are more afraid of getting cut than they are of getting shot.

Psychologically people are more afraid of getting cut than they are of getting shot. Might be true. Both are dangerous when pointed towards a human.

Yes, but a gun is ONLY dangerous when pointed at you. A knife is dangerous from the point AND the edge.

Psychologically people are more afraid of getting cut than they are of getting shot. That's interesting, maybe because more people know what getting cut ( accidentally, small scale) feels like where as most people only know what happens with a gun shot from tv or movies. People see people in movies get shot and then pout their hand over it, go argh! then carry on with whatever they were doing. I assume getting shot hurts a heck of a lot more

It does smart. I (go ahead and laugh) shot myself in the face with a 12 gauge shotgun once. Yes it was only a ricochet but I had 3 pellets penetrate the skin. One went about half way through my cheek and it was a BEAR to dig out. The other two just sort of skimmed themselves under the skin and I was just able to get them out with my fingers. IF I had not had on impact resistant glasses I could have lost an eye as the glass lens on one side was cracked.

Skunk I noticed but I´m afraid I´m not going to get my new status today. I´ve been packing and I´m off soon.
Hurting / pain depends on many things. There are stories about seriously cutted / shot people who kept on fighting. Adrenaline, motivation, etc...

Yes, you are correct! But all I could think of was HOW STUPID I WAS to not check and see if there was anything behind the "Target" that would cause the pellets to come back at me.

A friend and I were just out hunting in the high plains desert area of Idaho around Mountain Home Air Force Base. I saw a plastic jug and just took a shot at it. There was a piece of metal against a rock behind it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />
